Select Software… Purchase Hardware Purchase Software Write a Technology Plan Hardware: Consult trade magazines, computer magazines, Consumer Reports, SBA, SCORE, computer salespeople Software: List all the tasks you need to carry out, and then find the software to help you perform these tasks. Technology Plan: Write specific goals you have for your business, and describe how technology could be used to meet those goals cost effectively.

Solution: Purchase database program to track accounts and generate billing letters. Use program to identify late payers and generate mailing list. Contact payers, reminding them of importance of paying on time. Goal: Identify most profitable product lines in order to fine-tune marketing efforts. Solution: Purchase spreadsheet program to analyze profitability of various product lines (health club memberships, tennis memberships, racquet shop, snack bar). Technology Plan Example
