The “best” has lots of options 4. The “best” has negotiation capacity 5. The “best” has interviewing expectations 6. The “best” may be too expensive 7. The “best” may not be a cultural fit

Interviewing Skills – Hiring the Best  The Interview Experience: 1. Should be hospitable not hostile 2. Should be a conversation not an interrogation 3. Should be a reciprocal conversation 4. Should be informative as well as inquisitive 5. Should provide sufficient time for the candidate to ask questions

Interviewing Skills – Hiring the Best  Best Practices: 1. Make sure the candidate’s name is on the receptionist/security list 2. Reserve conference room (if applicable) 3. Create an atmosphere of hospitality 4. Determine the types of questions that will be asked 5. Have interview questions prepared 6. Make sure the job/position description is available 7. Take notes 8. Be prepared to schedule a follow-up interview
