Curriculum of Nature studies forms 1-6 Project activities

Curriculum of Nature studies forms 1-6. Regulations in state standarts of basic education and standards of subjects of basic education Curriculum of Nature studies forms 1-6

The example of Curriculum in Nature sciences is designed to help teachers to implement the standard of Nature sciences requirements for 1st-6th grade. Curriculum of Nature studies forms 1-6.

The Curriculum in Nature includes training aims training tasks training content acquisition sequence necessary teaching materials teaching methods methodologi cal techniques student achievement evaluation forms Curriculum of Nature studies forms 1-6.

Curriculum of Nature studies forms 1-6 The sequence of obtaining the training content Time prospective for obtaining the training content Predictable results

Harvest time

The project “ Nature of Latvia” The project objective - to develop students skills to describe the landscape of Latvia Pupils’ task: 1. To get, select and use the information from different sources 2. To summarize the acquired information 3. To present the project

Competition "Little Scientists“ Forms 5-6 Little Scientists is a quiz which main aim is to promote students’ interest about science. The questions for the quiz were prepared by students of secondary school. The topics of the quiz: 1. animals and plants of Latvia 2. protected species

Competition "Little Scientists“ Forms 5-6

Birds Day 1. In the lessons of Science students study one of 30 bird (appearance, qualities, sounds, food, habits, etc) 2. In the Art lessons students draw a chosen bird 3. They play out the game Birds in Latvia

Birds Day

Birds day

Forest Day The aim of the Forest Day: to increase children’s interest and comprehension about forests and their role in humans life. Pupils from forms 5 plant pines together with State Forest Service workers

Forest Day

Parents Day The aim of the Parents Day: 1. to inform parents about students research work 2. to put them in a role as a researchers

Parents Day

Project activities Develop four laboratory works: 1. THE TRANSFER OF SUBSTANCE IN PLANTS 2. BIOLOGICAL PROCESSES 3. THE FORMATION OF STARCH IN LEAVES 4. WATER TRANSPIRATION THROUGH LEAVES

Laboratory work BIOLOGICAL PROCESSES Laboratory work BIOLOGICAL PROCESSES Task Experimentally prove that minerals are necessary for plant to grow.

Equipment and substances 9 test tubes 4 days malt peas filter paper liquid fertilizer water with sugar stand distilled water colored wax crayon ruler

Pour water into three tubes

Pour liquid fertilizer into next three tubes

Pour water with sugar into last three tubes

Make nine balls of filter paper and put them in a tube, but don’t let them slide down

Put a pea seedling on filter paper ball

Put tubes in the stand in the classroom for a week

After week Observe any changes that occurred in all test tubes with peas seedlings

We measure pea seedlings root length

Tube number FluidIn beginning of the experiment, mm At the end of the experiment, mm 1. Distilled water Distilled water Distilled water Liquid fertilizer Liquid fertilizer Liquid fertilizer Water with sugar Water with sugar Water with sugar 00 We register the results in the table!

Average pea seedling root length Distilled water ( ):3=13.7 mm Liquid fertilizer ( ):3=19.3mm Water with sugar (12+6+0):3=6mm

Average pea seedling root length

Conclusion The best environment for pea seedling is fertilized liquid The worst environment for pea seedling is water with sugar We proved that fertilized liquid is needed for plant to grow!!

Thank you! Thank you!
