Glenair AmberStrand ® Composite EMI/RFI Braid

AmberStrand ® Composite EMI/RFI Braid  Nickel Plated Composite Shielding Offers Unique Solution to Electromagnetic Compatibility  Expandable, flexible, high-strength, conductive, thermoplastic material  Provides abrasion resistance and EMI shielding at a fraction of the weight of metal braid

Glenair AmberStrand ® Features  Shields from 80db to 40db in 1Ghz  Superb optical braid coverage %  Full mechanical function - Crimp, Band-It, Solder  Extremely strong fiber coated with Nickel or Silver.  Meets limits of 1.0% max outgas test to IAW ASTM and 0.10% max. CVCM  Meets Lightning strike ANSVEIA specification at 3Kva, 6Kva & 10Kva wave form B  High flexure strength and flexibility -80˚C to +220˚C  Excellent Abrasion and Burn Resistance “The Weight Saver” - average 78% less than tin/copper

Glenair AmberStrand ® Market Applications  Reduce the Size and Weight of Interconnect Systems  Eliminate EMI Signal Distortion on interconnect assemblies  Solve High Cycle/High Flexure Mechanical Assembly issues  Perform in High Temperature Applications

AmberStrand ® Weight Savings  100 feet of ¼” AmberStrand vs. Tin/Copper shield saves 3+ Lbs.  100 feet of 5/8” AmberStrand vs. Tin/Copper shield saves 5+ Lbs.  Estimated system weight savings in a mix of AmberStrand sizes totaling 1000 feet in length could save 40 to 50 pounds or more.  In a Jumbo Jet longer lengths of AmberStrand could add up to passengers being “lost” via weight savings.
