What is the Rock Cycle?! What is the Rock Cycle?!

Rock Cycle The rock cycle starts off in the mantle. The rock cycle starts off in the mantle. The mantle is the part of the earth that goes from the Earths crust to the core. The mantle is the part of the earth that goes from the Earths crust to the core. Here, magma is being forced up through the Earths curst. Some of the magma escapes through little holes in the volcano while the other rests on the Earths surface. Here, magma is being forced up through the Earths curst. Some of the magma escapes through little holes in the volcano while the other rests on the Earths surface.

Rock Cycle: When hot magma exits the volcano on the surface, it becomes lava (oracle, 2000). When hot magma exits the volcano on the surface, it becomes lava (oracle, 2000). Igneous rocks are formed when the lava cools. Igneous rocks are formed when the lava cools. Some of the rocks end up in the ocean. Some of the rocks end up in the ocean. Sediments may be carried by weathering. Sediments may be carried by weathering.

Rock Cycle: Over time, layers of sedimentary rocks are built up and those layers create sedimentary rocks (Oracle, 2000). Over time, layers of sedimentary rocks are built up and those layers create sedimentary rocks (Oracle, 2000). There are layers at the bottom that have a lot of pressure and this creates metamorphic rocks. There are layers at the bottom that have a lot of pressure and this creates metamorphic rocks.

Rock Cycle: These rocks turn into magma and the whole rock cycle starts over again (Oracle, 2000). These rocks turn into magma and the whole rock cycle starts over again (Oracle, 2000).
