PACEPEP SUPPORT PROGRAMME FOR ECONOMIC GROWTH AND PROMOTION OF EMPLOYMENT IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR IN MALI Mali Category: X.XX.X Advocacy Offer of services Governance Affiliation strategy

PACEPEP The governments of Mali and Denmark signed an agreement, on the implementation of a programme (PACEPEP) aimed at developing the private sector by boosting inclusive economic growth, generating income and promoting work. The amount of financing for the three programme components is FCFA 26.4 billion. The amount for component 1 which seeks to increase the competitiveness of private sector actors is FCFA 11 billion over a five-year period from The implementation of component 1 is being carried out by the National Council of Malian Employers (CNPM) with the support of the Danish Technical Assistance Bureau NIRAS.

PACEPEP Brief description of initiative (main activities): PACEPEP has two funds to finance SMEs: 1. The Advisory support fund This fund can finance: studies, training, setup of technologies and products (green projects or R&D), product certification. 2. The Investment fund This fund can finance: equipment or buildings, fittings or installations, additional costs (transport, installation, etc.).

PACEPEP Summary of main results:  The private sector advisory support scheme is strengthened to facilitate access to financing (705 SME, 80 inclusive projects and 20 research and development projects)  The investment capacity of companies is strengthened (460 SME, 60 inclusive projects and 70 green projects)  Knowledge/structuring of targeted sectors is improved  Public-Private sector dialogue and dialogue within the Private sector is improved  Public institutions are boosted to improve the environment for target sectors
