Business Profile Group 1 st Meeting Tuesday 9/20/11 Class 7

Project Overview There are eight (8) separate groups – “A” thru “H” – There are six (6) students per group – Each of you has been assigned to one of the groups.

Project Overview There are five (5) assignments due over the course of the semester. – The project accounts for a significant portion [22%] of your grade in the class. – There area total of 100 points available from the project, half of which are earned by the group, and half by individual effort, as follows: Profile A (5 points) group grade Profile B (5 points) group grade Profile C (30 points) group grade Profile D (10 points) group grade Profile E (50 points) individual grade

Project Overview Produce an 8 – 10 page typed profile of: –A public [market-listed stock] company of your choice. –A company based in the Monterey Bay area or at least doing business in this area. –Once you’ve decided on a company, someone from your group MUST get approval from me. –Each group must have a different company. Selection will be on a first come-fist serve basis

Company Information Corporations are required to file annual reports on Form 10 - K Corporations are required to file quarterly reports on Form 10 – Q Corporations are required to file certain material corporate events on a more current basis on Form 8 – K announcing any major events that shareholders should know about.

Project Profile A Overview Profile A A single document including the name and symbol of your company, a one-paragraph description of their business, and financials including balance sheet and income statement for the last four (4) years. Be sure to include a heading with your group number, course, date, and names of all group members.

Project Profile B Overview Profile B A single document describing your group’s plan for completing the project, including allocation of tasks, a timeline with key milestones (including those already completed), an outline of your paper, and your communication plan among the group. Be sure to include a heading with your group number, course, date, and names of all group members.

Project Profile C Overview Profile C Paper due, including heading. Be sure to include a heading with your name, group number, course, and date.

Project Profile D Overview Profile D Class presentations, 10 minutes. Arrange for any special equipment or loading of PowerPoint slides at least two days in advance

Project Profile E Overview Profile E An individual document from each student, two (2) pages (double-spaced, typed) with your reflections on how the group worked. No names. Be sure to include a heading with your name, group number, course, and date.
