Hubble Mission Status Review Page 3 of 10 Space Telescope Science Institute Status as of: 10 June 2003 PROJECT: COS Highlights - Accomplishments SI News:  SI fully integrated  Thermal Balance begins 25 June; Thermal-Vac Science Cal on 5 July!  COS PER  All STScI IS supported the review  FUV02 aligned in CAOS/HOMS (Hartig participation); “tilted” spectrum lines present before GSFC activities, absent after.  Different cal lamp used; thorough evaluation via BIA and ABA by Ball/STScI/GSFC team; no changes in CAOS/HOMS  BOA FUV resolution degradation will be determined in Thermal-Vac testing  GSFC EMI/EMC, vibration and acoustic tests, metrology all successfully performed;  MAMA MCP current exceeded safe limit during pre-ship system FT after acoustic test on NUV/MAMA; ion trap shorted to ground due to screw in contact with ion trap (40 v); repaired (Vespel potted in place).  Shipped back to Ball; now in RASCAL alignment.  Proceed to Thermal-Vac / Thermal Balance activity (24/7 2 shifts per day activity commencing 25 June nominally through 5 August) -STScI Instrument Scientists (Keyes, Sembach, Leitherer, Friedman, and Bohlin) will stand shifts during Thermal-Vac; Hartig will “float”
