A pt present to the ER c/o pain in RUQ that radiates to his right shoulder. He has had a weight loss of 15 pounds over the last month. He states he is unable to eat without getting nauseated. His lab work is unremarkable. Vital Signs are normal, no fever, no chills. On exam, patient has marked tenderness on abdominal exam over RUQ. Bowel sounds are present and active X 4 quadrants. Case # 1

What is his likely diagnosis? What symptoms led you to his diagnosis? What treatment would you expect the patient to have?

A 52 year old female present to the ER with terrible abdominal pain. She states she’s had blood/mucous stools for 2 weeks. Now she has diarrhea times a day and has lost 20 pounds. CT scan is normal. Physical exam reveals tender abdomen. Case # 2
