Result The government health officials discussed in speeches the need for a: –Change in national health care programmes and policies –Increased understanding by government and policy makers Raised public understanding about hospice and palliative care through media, public engagement

Analysis Palliative care not recognised as a human right and lack of public awareness about the issue and what palliative care as a human right means. Activity Media work, information campaign and linked with Human Rights Commission. Utilised the World Day global theme and the key messages. Result A newspaper article, magazine article, TV special and circulation of an explaining the meaning of ‘Palliative care: a human right’. The article was also published on the Mexican website of the Human Rights Commission.
