How We See Color Colors are recognized through receptors at the back of our eyes. The eye sees the light; the brain interprets it, identifying the colors.

Shades, Hues, and Tints

Association With Color Red is a warm color that it is associated with fire. Blue is a cool color; the color of the sky, and water. Green is a fresh color associated with grass and lush foliage.

Using Too Much Color High risk exists in using too many colors rather than using too few. Too many colors will make the page feel too busy, making it harder for the viewer to find the information.
