Communication among Polling officials through lowcost SMS A communication system was developed in the district with the active support NIC by utilizing the low cost SMS technology by single mouse click for interaction right from DEO level to all other polling officials. JOINT CONTROL ROOM Joint control rooms were opened at district level & RO level (19 ACs & 3 PCs) with Revenue & Police Officials & staff to monitor the entire election related activities during pre-poll day & poll day by arranging TVs, Wireless sets, Telephones, Fax machines & Computers and resolved the problems as & when arose. Very good coordination between police and polling staff. No communication gap. No time lag in receiving the complaint and taking action. 4.Observation of staunch supporters Shadow teams were formed with Police Officials to watch the strong supporters of the main contesting candidates well prior to poll day whether they are preparing to influence the electors to do their favour by means of distributing cash or kind or liquor etc. and on the day of poll approx. about such 1700 people were only given time to cast their votes hence they could not affect polls in negative way. No silent rigging. Shadow teams were formed with Police Officials to watch the strong supporters of the main contesting candidates well prior to poll day whether they are preparing to influence the electors to do their favour by means of distributing cash or kind or liquor etc. and on the day of poll approx. about such 1700 people were only given time to cast their votes hence they could not affect polls in negative way.
