H ANDLING P IRANHA Always use glass (preferably Pyrex) containers Prepare in a hood; wear rubber gloves and eye protection Always add the hydrogen peroxide to the acid The mixture is likely to become hot (>100 ºC); handle with care

H ANDLING P IRANHA Leave the hot solution in an open container until cool Mixing hot piranha with organic compounds (such as acetone, isopropyl alcohol and photoresists) might cause an explosion Never store piranha solutions, mix fresh solution for each use
