WHAT DO WE TEACH IN 3 RD GRADE? SOCIAL STUDIES AND SCIENCE

ASSESSMENTS STAR Testing: Students will be taking STAR Reading and STAR Math tests throughout the year. The STAR programs will provide reports that will help teachers identify instructional needs on an individual and class basis. Communication regarding the results of these tests will be sent home for parents to review. Acuity Testing: Once a quarter, students in third through fifth grade will be given a computerized test called Acuity. The test randomly assigns test questions that all students should know by the end of the grade level. The program also allows for practice. Based on individual needs, teachers can assign lessons that will help each student. MAP Testing: This year students will be testing in the areas of English Language Arts and Math. Students will also take the Terra Nova in April/May. Please try to avoid absences during the month of April/May.
