LET US BOW OUR HEARTS IN PRAYER

1 Cor. 11:26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

1 Cor. 16:2 “... let every one of you lay by him in store...”

(Luke 11:5-13) And He said to them, "Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, 'Friend, lend me three loaves; {6} 'for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him'; {7} "and he will answer from within and say, 'Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you'? {8} "I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs. {9} "So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. {10} "For everyone who ASKS receives, and he who SEEKS finds, and to him who KNOCKS it will be opened. {11} "If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? {12} "Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? {13} "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!"

A.S.K. IN PRAYER

THE TREE CUTTER

ONLY WHEN IN NEED A man fell off cliff and grabbed a ledge He yells out, “Is there anyone there?” A voice said, “This is God, let go and I will save you.” There is silence Then the man calls out, “Is there anyone else there?”

I. ASK WITH SIMPLICITY A.ASK SIMPLY Luke 11:11 If a son asks for bread from any father among you, B.ASK (James 4:2-3) You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. {3} You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. C.ASK IN FAITH (James 1:6) But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. D.ASK BELIEVING IN GOD’S POWER (Eph 3:20) Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

II. SEEK WITH INTENSITY A.SEEK INTENSELY Luke 11:5-6 And He said to them, "Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, 'Friend, lend me three loaves; {6} 'for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him' B. SEEK GOD (Heb 11:6) But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. C. SEEK GOD'S WILL (John 5:30) "I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me. D. SEEK THINGS ABOVE (Col 3:1) If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.

III. KNOCK WITH PERSISTENCY A.KNOCK PERSISTENTLY Luke 11:8 because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs. B.KNOCK WITHOUT CEASING (1 Th 5:17) pray without ceasing, C.KNOCK FERVENTLY (James 5:16) The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

III. KNOCK WITH PERSISTENCY D. KNOCK WITHOUT GIVING UP (Luke 18:1-8) Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart, {2} saying: "There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. {3} "Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, 'Get justice for me from my adversary.' {4} "And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, Though I do not fear God nor regard man, {5} 'yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. 1 " {6} Then the Lord said, "Hear what the unjust judge said. {7} "And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? {8} "I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?"

ARE YOU A.S.K.ING IN PRAYER A.NO TIME TO PRAY I got up early one morning and rushed right into the day; I had so much to accomplish that I didn't have time to pray. Problems just tumbled about me, and heavier came each task. Why doesn't God help me? I wondered, He said, you didn't ASK. I wanted to see joy and beauty, but the day toiled on, gray and bleak. I wondered why God didn't show me. He said, you didn't SEEK. I tried to come into God's presence; I used all my keys at the lock. God gently and lovingly chided, my child you didn't KNOCK. I work up early this morning, and paused before entering the day; I had so much to accomplish that I had to take time to pray. B.REMEMBER TO… ASK WITH SIMPLICITY SEEK WITH INTENSITY KNOCK WITH PERSISTENCY
