WE NEED TO CONTINUE STEADFASTLY.

We need to continue steadfastly in preaching. Two ways we do so: We need to hear the Word of God for ourselves (1 Pet 1:23-25). We need to be sharing that Word with others. “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes” (Rom 1:16).

We need to continue steadfastly in participation. We need to share our lives, for burdens are often too heavy to bear alone. “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ” (Gal 6:2).

We need to continue steadfastly in partaking. The Lord’s Supper must be the most solemn thing we do week after week. 1 Cor 11:24-25.

We need to continue steadfastly in prayer. Scripture urges us to be steadfast in prayer. “Pray without ceasing” (1 Thess 5:17). Why? “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much” (Js 5:16). Do you need us to pray with you this morning?
