“What Shall I Do With Jesus?” Jesus in Pilate’s Hall Matthew 27:18-22

The Answer  “They all said, let him be crucified” (22) “They handed Him over because of envy” (18)  Envy can destroy innocent life  Envy blinds from the value of Christ  The envious quickly reject the Truth

Pilate’s Question  “What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” (22) Everyone must face this question (Matt 28:19; Mk 16:15).  The brightest & most promising.  The irreligious.  The pursuers of every religion.

The Options  “Don’t Get Involved” By leaving Him for someone else to deal with (Matt 27:19)

The Options  “Ignore Him” By refusing to greet one another (Rom 16:16; 1 Cor 16:20; 2 Cor 13:12; 1 Pet 5:14) By failing to show affection for one another (Rom 12:10)

The Options  “Ignore Him” By forgetting to be hospitable to one another (1 Pet 4:9; Rom 12:13) By neglecting the needs of the least among us (Rom 12:13; Matt 25:45) By disregarding His commands in marriage (Eph 5:22, 25)

The Options  “Keep Quiet About Him” By succumbing to peer Pressure (Jn 9:22; 12:42-43)

The Options  “Wait Before You Decide” By viewing salvation as a matter for tomorrow (Lk 9:59-62; 2 Cor 6:2)

The Personal Cost  Living without Him shuts out His blessings (Psa 23).

The Lord is my Shepherd  Relationship With God! I shall not want  Full Supply! He maketh me to lie down in green pastures  Peace of mind! He leadeth me beside the still waters  Refreshment! He restoreth my soul  Healing – Forgiveness! He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness  Guidance! For His name sake  Purpose!

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death  Testing! I will fear no evil  Protection! For Thou art with me  Faithfulness! Thy rod & Thy staff they comfort me  Discipline!

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies  Sufficiency – Acceptance – Hope! Thou annointest my head with oil  Consecration! My cup runneth over –  Abundance! Surely goodness & mercy shall follow me all the days of my life  Grace! And I will dwell in the house of the Lord  Security! Forever  Eternity!

By refusing Christ you have not these blessings: God as your Shepherd! Full Supply! Peace of mind! Refreshment! Forgiveness! Guidance! Purpose! Protection! Faithfulness! Discipline! Hope! Consecration! Abundance! Grace! Security! Eternity!

The Personal Cost  Dying without Him should cause us to shudder (2 Thess 1:7-9). Banished from the presence of God for all eternity.
