MIDPOINT FORMULA
Sometimes you need to find the point that is exactly between two other points. This middle point is called the "midpoint" which is the point that is exactly between two other points. Technically, the Midpoint Formula is the following:
Example: Find the midpoint of the following points 1. A(2,3) B(6,7) (2+6) 2 (3+7) 2, ( ) , ( ), ( ) 45
Example: Find the midpoint of the following points 1. A(5,3) B(2,9) (5+2) 2 (3+9) 2, ( ) , ( ), ( ) 6 7 2
Your Turn! Find the midpoint of the following ordered pairs 1. (2, 7)(6,9) 2. (12, 2)(1,19) 3. (22, 5)(4,21) 4. (20, 10)(35,20) 5. (-2, 5)(3,-2) 1. (4, 8) 2. (13/2, 21/2) 3. (13, 13) 4. (55/2, 15) 5. (1/2, 3/2)
