Learn Arabic to Understand Quraan... for Allaah! Solaah 101 – 10 4 Learn Arabic to Understand Quraan – for Allaah! The Prophet ﷺ said that the salaah is the most beloved action to Allaah. This does not mean that He needs it or there is any benefit in it for Him. Allaah is Al-Ghanee ( الغني ) and is not in need of anything from the creation. Rather, we are the ones who are in need of performing the salaah. It is of benefit to us because it is most loved to Allaah and a means of earning reward and getting closer to Him. All these great bounties show Allaah’s Grace and Mercy for His servants. It shows how much He wants us to strive to earn His Mercy and to keep away from sins and anything which would cause harm - especially in the Hereafter. The salaah became the most endeared thing to the Prophet ﷺ. This shows his great love for Allaah and this is what we would like to achieve. When the servant obeys Allaah and strives to implement what He has commanded it pleases Him and He would love them; this is our aim. The Prophet ﷺ returned to Allaah several times until the salaah was reduced to five (5) times per day. This was a deliberate process. Everything Allaah does is with Wisdom. Allaah wanted us to help us understand what should be the place of salaah in our lives. The purpose of life is `ibaadah and the best `ibaadah is salaah. Salaah had been obligated upon the Muslim at specific times. A Muslim has no excuse for not praying once they meet the conditions of being of age and of sound mind. Salaah is the most loved action to Allaah. عن عبد الله بن مسعود رضي الله عنه قال: سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ -صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم-: أَيُّ الأَعْمَالِ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللهِ؟ قَالَ: "الصَّلاَةُ عَلَى وَقْتِهَا". قُلْتُ: ثُمَّ أَيٌّ؟ قَالَ: "ثُمَّ بِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ". قُلْتُ: ثُمَّ أَيٌّ؟ قَالَ: "ثُمَّ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ". The most loved place on earth to Allaah is where salaah is performed i.e. the Masjid. وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: أَحَبُّ الْبِلاَدِ إِلَى اللهِ مَسَاجِدُهَا، وَأَبْغَضُ الْبِلاَدِ إِلَى اللهِ أَسْوَاقُهَا (رواه مسلم) The best standing is a long standing (in the salaah) Allaah placed the position in which one can come closest to Him in the salaah – the sajdah. عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللّهِ -صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- قَالَ: أَقْرَبُ مَا يَكُونُ الْعَبْدُ مِنْ رَبِّهِ وَهُوَ سَاجِدٌ، فَأَكْثِرُوا الدُّعَاءَ.
