My Favorite Paintings Created by: Andrew Karman
Bullfight, Suerte de Varas Painted in By Francisco Jose de Goya. Composed during the Romanticism art era.
I chose the painting Bullfight, Suerte deVaras by Francisco Jose de Goya because it tells a story. It portrays a matador taunting a bull with spears. The bull is helpless and some what scared in the arena and all it can do is attack the matador and the other men. The bull charges at the matador but he expertly dodges its charge to survive. After a while, the bull is killed by people throwing spears at it.
Christ crucified with Toledo in the Background Painted between By Domenikos Theotokopoulos. Composed during the Baroque art era.
This painting of Jesus being crucified interests me because it reminds me of my faith. I believe that Jesus was sent from God and died on the cross to save us from sin. This painting reminds me of his sacrifice and humbles me knowing that he loved people he never met so much that he would die for them. This painting also shows light beaming down from the dark sky as if it is heaven showing through.
Coffee Grinder Painted in By Juan Gris. Composed during the Fauvism and Expressionism era.
The painting Coffee Grinder by Juan Gris is abstract artwork. I enjoy this style of art because it is always interesting and often tells a story. There are many different shapes in the picture that attract your attention to many different parts. I also enjoy coffee sometimes so this painting is relatable.
