FluxDemon FluxDemonSat Fluxgate Magnetometer Core Technology Demonstrator Feasibility Review Student Design Team: Farita Tasnim, Shivani Upadhayay, Jinny van Doorn Mentor Team: Keith Warren, Paul King, Luther Richardson October 28, 2014

Feasibility Review Questions Feasibility Review will include questions on technical feasibility, management plan, and education plan and sent out by November 3 rd. Questions 2-4 taken from NSF Merit Review Criteria (January 2013)

DREAMS (Doing Research at Extreme Altitudes for Motivated Students) Experience 23 high altitude balloon launches so far has built student knowledge: Communication Systems Electronics and Programming Integrated Process Teams DREAMS payloads will serve to test the performance of CubeSat payload prototypes at altitudes over 100,000 km 24 th launch is Nov. 15: version one of our flux gate magnetometer will fly and gather data Three or more DREAMS launches in the future dedicated to testing CubeSat components. We flew a prototype CubeSat from NASA Ames: Sept ‘14

Partners and Resources With the guidance and tools given by our partners, we will be able to accomplish our goals for the cube satellite in Auburn university’s clean room Our robotics lab (access to 3d printer) The Mag lab in auburn university Our mentor’s electrical engineering lab

(Bottom) We have made custom circuit boards in the past and have convenient access to our mentor’s lab to do so. (Above) These are the parts that were created in AutoCAD that were delivered to us, laser-cut and bent from Char-Broil, one of our partners. We used this to assemble our robot for FIRST.
