MISSION STATEMENT The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs statewide organizations is to collaboratively secure financial resources for local Clubs to serve Tennessee’s youth and teens. 2

V ISION S TATEMENT Tennessee’s statewide organizations aspire to be the premier organization representing youth and teens in the state and will continually look for opportunities to strategically expand its services and grow. 3

DEFINITIONS State Alliances are incorporated as a 501(c) 4 and whose purpose is to provide guidance and promote development of youth served by Boys & Girls Clubs by securing resources to strengthen the state-wide effectiveness of Boys & Girls Clubs and by promoting and strengthening Boys & Girls Clubs relationships with public agencies throughout the state of Tennessee. Boys & Girls Clubs in Tennessee’s Community-Based Organization (CBO) is a 501(c) 3 whose purpose is to promote exclusively the social welfare of young people and teens served by the various Boys & Girls Clubs in the State of Tennessee and who are serving children in the state of Tennessee. 5

Tennessee Alliance Funding Sources Marriage License Funding / Project Learn (Amount Varies – Participating clubs get $60,000 over three years.) CTE (Career Technology Education) in Governor’s Budget $125,000 9

Funding and Dues Annual membership agreement between the Alliance and each Club All Alliance member organizations pay dues. Dues are based on funding received from Alliance and CBO activity. Organizations that do not receive any funds are charged a minimum of $1,000 annually 10

Trustee Committee – Establishes guidelines for board of trustees and identifies prospects. Branding Committee – Assures the quality of statewide branding and explores possible statewide fund raisers. State Youth of the Year Sponsorships – Secures sponsors for Legislative Luncheon. 13

Serve on a committee. Identify, cultivate prospects for statewide funding (individuals and companies). Assist in introducing potential Door Openers to BGCTN Board and/or Staff. 16
