Importance of the Land Registry and Cadastre Information According to Turkish laws (Turkish Civil Code), one’s right of ownership (title) to a real property is only legally confirmed upon its entry into the Title Deed. and that such right of ownership is enshrined in the CONSTITUTION, land registry and cadastre information is the source of information constituting the legal and technical basis for all kinds of land-related investments and projects. Cadastre activities first started with the “Provisional Law on the Register and Restriction of Real Property on 5 February 1912”. After some changes, and revisions on this Provisional Law, a Cadastre Law no was passed on 10 October Since then, all cadastral activities have been carried out within the scope of this law. Beginning from 2005, cadastral services have been made by private sector under aiming at completion of cadastral maps nationwide. Aim of the Cadastre Law no. 3402; According to country coordinate system, based on the cadastral or topographic cadastral map of the country, to set the land register foreseen by the National Civil Law no by defining their legal status by indicating the borders of the immovable properties on the land and map and to build the infrastructure of the spatial data system. With this arrangement; the responsibility of performing cadastre technical services has been assigned to the Licensed Map Cadastre Engineer. AIM; to decrease work load of the cadastre directorates and to accelerate the works for improving, digitizing, renovating and updating the cadastre maps, Licensed Map Cadastre Engineers and Offices CADASTRAL WORKS in TURKEY
