Responsibility I encourage 2 nd graders to do as much as they can for themselves. Of course, they still need our help, but the more they are encouraged to solve problems and think for themselves, the more prepared they will be as they grow up. It’s o.k. to make mistakes. That’s how we learn. You can help by allowing your children to do more things independently. Give them guidance as they begin to solve problems on their own.
