 The Kentucky Army National Guard has dual missions.  The federal mission is to recruit, train and deploy military personnel and units anywhere in the world when ordered by the Department of Defense.  The Guard also stands ready to assist state agencies and local governments during disasters and emergencies declared by the Governor.

The London National Guard Armory was built and dedicated in It currently has 5 Full Time employees. It has 137 Citizen Soldiers that stand ready for any task issued to them either State or Federal. The qualifications to join the Kentucky Army National Guard are as follows * High School Graduate * Score at least 50 on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery Test

The Army National Guard is the oldest component of the United States armed forces. It was formed as a Militia on Dec 13, The Kentucky National Guard has been there in all natural disasters. * 2005 Hurricane Katrina * 2009 Winter Strom that covered most of Kentucky.

The Army National Guard has transported food, water, canned goods to the citizens of Kentucky. Have assisted in transportation of First Responders and Nurses to their needed location. Provided Security everywhere from the Kentucky Derby to the World Chicken Festival.

In closing, Soldiers in the National Guard are there to assist in the needs of the local communities, statewide or anywhere.
