Presentation transcript:

School is the ground where children learn skills, acquire knowledge and are being prepared to become responsible adults and whole personalities. Children are also being prepared to choose their future profession. First of all, children are taught the use of language and most of the times they learn more than one language. This is very useful because they can express their feelings and their opinions through language. Their opinions may not be right, but someone with the ability to express a thought or a belief constitutes an integrated person. Children have the chance to learn the principles of humanism which are essential to becoming a responsible citizen. Moreover, they learn how to be responsible and this happens in numerous ways. For example, they are expected to have a project done or be at school at a certain time. Children can also socialize at school since they come in touch with lots of people and exchange opinions. One could say that school is like society in miniature. Another role of school is to prepare students to choose a profession for the future. At school lots of subjects are taught and students have the opportunity to see which subject they like or not. This leads to finding their inclination and finally choosing a job. However, children are not very mature at this age, so they can’t take such a serious decision. Nevertheless, subjects help them broaden their interests no matter what their personal interests are. In addition, in most schools, there is a subject taught which explains students the advantages and disadvantages of each profession. So students can have an overall opinion concerning all the options they have for their future studies. In conclusion, schools undoubtedly help children to gain for their future in society and at work. They learn to be responsible adults, because they have to face the consequences of their choices, so they can integrate to society easily. By: Ekaterini’s Student Dia, 15 years How can schools prepare students for the future?

The role of school in preparing future adults Nowadays that education is provided freely, most of the children hate school and studying, but they don’t understand the supplies that they get by attending courses. These supplies will help them to manage their future as adults. First of all, students learn how to be responsible by carrying out their assignments. Teachers usually assign loads of projects to students in order to check how much pressure they can take and to teach them to meet deadlines. That can be achieved by giving them a certain date to hand the project over. But if they are late, they have to deal with some consequences. So students so as to avoid facing their fear of punishment or decreasing of their marks, they try to schedule their responsibilities by making a program. They learn, but ignore it at the same time, how to discipline themselves. Also sometimes teachers put students into teams. In this way, students try to co- operate with each other and have as an overall aim to resolve a problem or an exercise. As regards the help that school’s subjects provide in choosing a career I have to say, that not all students have the same interests and talents. For this reason there is a huge range of subjects which help students to find out the profession that they want to follow. For example, if one student is better at physics than history, that means he is more interested in practical subjects and in effect practical professions like an economist, a computer scientist a doctor etc. will be suitable for him. In reverse, students who are into theoretical subjects may want to follow a profession like a teacher, an archaeologist or a historian. To conclude, all these may seem difficult for children, but in this way they are being prepared for the market of professions By: Ekaterini’s Student Nefelie, 16 years.

I am very happy with my life. I always do the things that I admire. I am satisfied with my family as well as with my friends. I can always find solutions to my problems. I can arrange my homework so I have free time to meet my friends. Every day we go to play basketball or football and we often go to the cinema or to a café. I have friends that help me with my problems and difficult times. They are trustworthy and very humorous. I love my family. My parents let me do the things I want and they help me when I need something. I always do my homework and I have very good marks. My life is fantastic, but I always make an attempt to make it better. By: Ekaterini’s Student Pantelis, 13 years

How can you make the world a better place? Name : Noor Age : 18 years old - by doing my best in my education.. and grow up to be an effective citizen in my country which, I hope, will give me the power to make a difference. Name : A. Rahman Age : 20 years old - by keeping the environment clean and picking up dirt and leftovers. as living in a healthy environment will defiantly help in keeping people healthy so that they can devote themselves and work to the maximum. Name : Fatima Age : 18 years old - continue my education, have a decent job and work hard to accomplish my goals and one of them is trying to make a difference in the world because the world needs us to unite badly. Working with organizations and charity will certainly help. Name : Khalid Age : 16 years old - Volunteer in charity, helping homeless, feeding the hungry, those small things make a difference and contribute in making the world a better and safer place to live in. Name : Zahra Age : 19 years old - Only one person can't make a significant difference. People should unite. but, there are many things may help in resolving the problems we face nowadays. Perhaps the most effective way is to work with organizations cause they know the right way to do things correctly and they can advice you or give you information about how to make the world a better place. Name : Mohammed Age : 17 years old - If only everyone loved and cared for one another the world would be perfect.. so that's perhaps the best way to make the world a better place, love and care towards others.
