Where is Martinsville/Henry County?

Why did we choose SPARK? Previous VFHY grant experiences –Variety of settings & staff –Inclusion Comprehensive program Partnership building Evidence-based Practical and accessible

How did we implement SPARK? Staff training in August 2012 –Two-day trainings –Program introduction –Activity demonstrations –Manual distribution –FUN!

Where and with whom did we initially implement? YMCA (4) Boys & Girls Club (4) Smart Beginnings VA Cooperative Extension MHC After 3, Upward Bound, Upward Bound Math & Science (4) Clearview Early Learning Center Piedmont Community Services Total of 17 organizations/sites serving youth between the ages of 3-18 years ~ 1,000 youth served

What are the benefits of SPARK PE?
