My Profile NAME : Josh Phillips AGE : 15 LIKES : pizza : computers DISLIKES : Lady Gaga : school GOALS: professional skateboarder

INTERESTS ▪ Skateboarding ▪ Basketball ▪ Guitar ▪ Hanging out with friends

Other stuff about me ▪ I have two brothers ▪ I hate writing about anything ▪ My favourite band is Coldplay ▪ My favourite computer game is GTA Vice City ▪ My favourite movie is Twilight Part 4 ▪ I am having surfing lessons ▪ I have epilepsy

People who have epilepsy have seizures. When a person has a seizure the messages in their brain get mixed up.

I have focal seizures ▪ Focal seizures start in one part of my brain and affect the part of the body controlled by that part of the brain. ▪ My seizures start suddenly with no warning. ▪ My seizures usually last a few minutes.

What happens during my seizures. ▪ My conscious state is altered. ▪ I may look confused and dazed. ▪ I sometimes fiddle with my clothes. ▪ I make unusual sounds.

How I feel after a seizure ▪ tired ▪ confused ▪ scared ▪ embarrassed

How you can help ▪ Stay calm and just keep an eye on me. ▪ Gently guide me away if I am going to bump into something. ▪ Quietly let the teacher know I am having a seizure. ▪ When my seizure is finished reassure me that everything is okay.

Remember Epilepsy is just one small part of who I am !
