Toddlers appetite decreases, so weight gain slows Picky eaters! Over time, toddlers will meet their food needs Self feeding is important

Adults must provide food that is nutrient dense Offer nutritious foods first, so they fill up on them (not vice versa)

Avoid adding salt or sugar Introduce foods in intervals (every 3 days) Mash or cut foods Giving them choice or having them help will Make them more likely to eat it

Avoid popcorn, grapes, peanut butter, hotdogs, raw carrots small and hard candies What do you do if they are coughing? What if they arent breathing?

Childrens meals should be at the same time every day Do not force them to eat foods they dont like Good habits begin early!

Small child= small tummy! Do not expect a small child to eat as much food as a grown up! Eat the RAINBOW!- large variety of foods!
