 Piece of Illuminate in which parents and students can log into secure, individualized sites that show information pertinent to their student 

 Each student at Marcum has access to Illuminate Home Connection  Students use their student id numbers and their birthdates to log in to their specific accounts  Students are able to check their attendance, check their grades, review past assessment data, take new assessments, and send messages to their teacher through the student version of the portal.

 One log-in for each parent ◦ Each parent log-in has access to all of your children (3 rd -8 th grade)  Parents are able to view assessment data, check grades, check attendance, message their students’ teachers, and set up notifications for various items

 Shows you an overview of the most recent assessments entered into Illuminate by the teacher  Select an assessment to get more information about how your student did on the whole assessment, individual standards on the assessment, and individual questions on the assessment

 Year summary provides information about your students’ attendance for this school year ◦ Days and percentages present, tardy, absent (excused or unexcused)

 Teachers update their gradebooks at least once a week, usually more often  System updates within 24 hours  Contains information about each subject overall and information about individual assignments  Each 3 rd -8 th Grade Student will have a gradebook for each subject ◦ ELA ◦ Math ◦ Science ◦ History/Social Science ◦ PE (6 th -8 th )

 Parents are able to send messages to their child’s teachers through the parent portal  Teachers access Illuminate at least every school morning and will receive your notification of a message once they log in

 You can set Illuminate’s notifications to notify you by if your child: ◦ Scored a zero on an assignment ◦ Scored below a certain percentage on an assignment ◦ Received negative attendance ◦ Overall grade changes ◦ Grade falls below a %

 You can choose to add the account setting “Weekly Digest” which will allow Illuminate to send you a snapshot of your student’s week including information about ◦ Attendance ◦ Assessments ◦ Grades
