Summary and analysis of school data on pupil achievement 2012 ‘How are we doing?’

Context of assessments EYFS – Teacher assessment KS1 – Teacher assessment validated by use of SATs papers and moderation KS2 – Externally marked SATs papers for maths and reading. Teacher assessments for writing validated by internally marked SATs papers, CLP moderation and sample schools externally moderated.

Understanding levels EYFS Foundation stage profile – 9 points across each of the different areas of learning. Average point score at end of Reception year is 6 KS1 and KS2 National curriculum levels are sub-levelled e.g. Level 2 is split into 2c, 2b and 2a Each sub-level is given a number score so averages can be calculated Average level in key year groups (point score in brackets): Year 2 – Level 2b (15) Year 4 – Level 3b (21) Year 6 – Level 4b (27)
