Presentation transcript:

Lord Bercilak is the warm, and friendly host of the castle that Sir Gawain stops at during his journey to find the Green Knight. Bercilak is a man of great physical stature who adorns a large bushy beard. He is a very generous host who offers Gawain food, clothes, and his wife’s company. A great skill that Bercilak possesses is that he is an excellent and brave hunter. Liam Neeson physically resembles Lord Bercilak by being the age of 61 and standing 6’4” tall. He is very well suited for playing Lord Bercilak due to him holding previous roles as Arthurian characters in the 1981 film “Excalibur” as well as the 1982 film “Merlin and the Sword”. Liam Neeson will be able to bring the strong and brave yet generous and fun character to life on the screen.

Lady Bercilak is the wife of Lord Bercilak who challenges Gawain by trying to seduce him throughout the poem. She is described as beautiful, even more beautiful than Guinevere, as well as charming and persuasive. While trying to seduce Gawain she is being very witty and knows what to do to get him to do what she wants. Mila Kunis matches the description of Lady Bercilak by being a very beautiful women. Like Lady Bercilak, Mila has played roles where she has had to be very charming and persuasive while also having a devious side like in the movie “Oz, The Great and Powerful”. Mila Kunis will bring a fresh vibe to the role of Lady Bercilak that an older actress wouldn’t be able to accomplish.

Sir Gawain is a knight of the round table and King Arthur’s nephew. Gawain describes himself as the weakest and feeblest knight but still stands up to the green knight. Gawain has great honor and courage by still taking his journey to find the green knight despite his fear of death. Gawain shows that he is not perfect during the poem making him appear more human. Clive Owen matches the physical description of what Gawain could look like by being a British male who is 48 and 6’2”. He has had similar acting roles, playing Arthur in the 2004 film King Arthur and playing a warrior in his upcoming film “The Last Knights”. Clive will bring his experience with Arthurian characters to the role.
