HSV – High School Value Prior to 2013, in order to be assigned a label of A, schools and districts had to meet growth and have a QDI of 200 or above. This year, however, another number -- high school value (HSV) -- took both QDI and graduation rates into account, and if a district scored a 280 or above with that figure, they could be an A school whether or not their QDI reached the 200 mark.

Note: In 2013, there are only 13 districts that met the following criteria: * District label as either A or B * Schools in these districts are either all A’s or a combination of A and B schools. (A district had to have at least one A school to be included in this group.) * All schools met growth. Jackson County is one of the thirteen that met the criteria to be included in this group. A list of these district is included on the next slide.

Changes in NCLB Requirements (effective 2012) The model changed in August 2012 due to the ESEA Flexibility Request. School Districts no longer receive a label. AYP is no longer measured. New Annual Measurable Objectives (AMOs). Schools should cut in half the difference between current (2011) proficiency rates and 100 % proficiency in six years (2017) overall and for each subgroup in E/LA and Math.

Mississippi Federal Differentiated Accountability Model Priority (Lowest Performing 5% of Title I Schools) Focus (10 % of Title I schools with the biggest achievement gaps and/or lowest subgroup achievement. Approaching Target (Schools that miss AMO targets for a category for two years.) On Target Reward (High Performers and Big Improvers)
