SOFTBALL

(L-R) Sam, Mason, Jacob (Yr 9), Brayden(Yr 11), Aimee (Yr 12)and Sarah(Yr9). This photos shows the friendships that exist amongst our softballers!

In 2009 Westfields Sports not only won both NSWCHS Softball titles (boys & girls) but they had excellent NAPLAN, HSC & SC results as well 6 of the softball squad made NSW u/16 & u/19 teams as well with another 5 being selected for state camps. Matthew Attard (WSHS boys Softball captain) & Steven Evic (NSW U/19 rep 2010 at training)

It is no coincidence that since Chris arrived at Westfields Sports, the program has gone from strength to strength. Mason Rossi, Jacob Stek and Tim Nazar were all chosen for NSW U/16 State camp in 2009 despite only just turning 14. Chris has coached them since they started at Westfields in Year 7. Chris focuses on skill development at training.

 NSW U/16 Asst Boys coach (Premiers 2009/8 2006, 2005 & Runners up 2007)  Southern Met Softball Academy coach since 1999 inauguration  Coached Association U/16 & U/19 Boys & Girls to great success Premiers 2004, 2007, Runners Up  Winners 2007/8/9 Boys & 2009 Girls Softball CHS Sports High School.  Runners up 2008 Girls Softball CHS Knockout Jacob represented NSW U/16 in 2009, Mason in

 The students in the Softball program have the opportunity to train twice a week with Chris as a timetabled class.  Currently Juniors (7-8) train on Monday and Thursday morning  Opens (9-12) train on Monday and Thursday afternoon. (L-R ) Cody, Jordan, Josh, Alyssa, Jazzy, Izack, Sarah, Brittany, Corey& Chris (coach) Westfields Sports Junior Squad 2010

Tayla (L) & Karla (R) have both attended Westfields Sports since Year 7. This year Tayla represented NSW U/19 and NSWCHS Blue team. We are very proud of her achievements! Karla represented NSW U/16 and NSWCHS Blue in Karla also won the batting award at the national championships and selection into the Aussie team development squad!

Jasmine, Sheree, Ashlea, Aimee & Alyssa are all members of the Westfields Sports Girls Softball squad and all have been elected by their fellow school students as SRC representatives as well. Westfields Sports has a student body in excess of 1700.

 If you could see yourself as part of our team in 2011, why don’t you apply and try-out? Chris works with students to build upon their natural talents and develop skills. You don’t have to be a superstar to start with! Focus, dedication and a positive attitude to school are absolutely essential!  We take applications from students for Year 7- 12, 2011  Just contact the school office for more information or an application form on or the convenor if you have any questions about the program.
