Cyber Security includes these things:  Use safer passwords & keep them private  Use safer Internet practices  Use software to protect against computer viruses, “spy” programs & the theft of your private information  Use Your Netsmartz!

Passwords  Learn to create safer passwords that will be hard for others to guess  Some examples: think of an unusual phrase like redgiraffe, but replace some letters with numbers, and add some punctuation marks, like this: R3dgir*ffe Who should I share my passwordswith? Who should I share my passwords with?

The only people you should ever share your passwords with are your trusted adults! Parents Teacher Not your friends! Passwords are private!

What is spyware? Spyware is software installed on your computer without you knowing it. It might keep track of what you do on the internet, or send out personal information without your permission.

How do I know if I have lots of spyware on my computer? If your computer has spyware on it, you might see:  Lots and lots of pop-ups  Unexpected change in your browser’s home page  Your browser takes you to sites that you don’t want to go to  Toolbars on our browser or icons on your desktop that you did not mean to put there  Keys on your keyboard that won’t work correctly  Error messages that don’t make sense or that pop up all the time  S-L-O-W performance—especially when opening or saving files  Sometimes there is no sign at all that you have a spyware problem!
