Run-On Sentences When people write too fast, they sometimes combine several thoughts together as one sentence. The result is a RUN-ON SENTENCE.

A RUN-ON SENTENCE Is two or more sentences that are written together and are separated by a comma or no mark of punctuation at all.

Sample Run-On Sentences With a Comma With NO Comma The crocodile is hunting, it will search for frogs. White tigers are rare they have blue eyes.

Ways to Correct Run-On Sentences There are 2 ways to correct a run-on sentence. You can either turn the RO into separate sentences or create a compound sentence. Run-on Sentence We rushed into the village the elephant had already left.

Corrections SEPARATE COMPOUND We rushed into the village. T he elephant had already left. We rushed into the village, but the elephant had already left.
