Today you are going to practice how to copy and paste text using your mouse. Let’s get started! Begin To turn the page, click on the arrow buttons 

Copying and Pasting Think about a time when you have cut out words with your scissors and glued them to another piece of paper. When you copy and paste text using a computer, it’s just like cutting and gluing paper, but without the sticky mess! To learn more, follow these steps… Next Page

During this lesson, you will need to use this practice page. Next Page Go Back Power Point Icon To return to this slide show, click on the Power Point icon at the bottom of the screen. To get there anytime, just click on these words - Practice Page.Practice Page

When you find text you want to copy and paste… 1.Move your cursor (the arrow) to the beginning of the text, left click your mouse and hold it down. Try it! Practice Page Next Page Go Back Return to this show by clicking on the icon at the bottom of the screen. 2. Drag the cursor across the text. It will highlight the words. 3. Take your finger off of the mouse. The text is now highlighted. 

After you highlight the text… 4. Move your cursor (the arrow) anywhere on top of the highlighted text and right click. A menu will pop up. Next Page Go Back Return to this show by clicking on the icon at the bottom of the screen. Try it! Practice Page Menu

To copy and paste the text… Next Page Go Back Return to this show by clicking on the icon at the bottom of the screen. 5.Select “copy” from the menu. The text has now been copied! 6. Now find a place to “paste” this text. Put your cursor in that spot and right click your mouse. 7.Select “paste” from the menu, and Voila! You’ve pasted the text! Copy Paste

It’s just that simple! Now that you can copy and paste, keep practicing using the practice pages. Copy-and-paste can be used with the Internet. Try and copy a few of these jokes to your practice page. Type your name somewhere, then print them! Click Here for Jokes!
