Tackling Inequalities and Discrimination – One of the main roles of the EHRC will be to enforce equality legislation on religion or belief and encourage compliance with the Human Rights Act – This will also involve giving support, advice and guidance on the appropriate legislations

In Britain today, people of no and many different faiths and beliefs live side by side. The opportunity is there for all to work together to build a society rooted in the values we treasure. This means finding ways to live our lives with integrity and allowing others to do so. Many different religious traditions, as well as other belief systems offer resources for this and teach the importance of good relationships characterized by honesty, compassion and generosity of spirit We will work in partnership with organizations, to harness their strengths and resources to developing good relations between people. Developing good relations between people

Recognition of the need to protect human freedom and human dignity is common to the social and moral teachings of all the major faiths and non religious associations such as the Humanist Association. We will be working in partnership, with major faiths and non religious associations on the common understanding of the core principles of human rights in promoting and protecting human rights.
