Preliminary Tri-university SSERCA WOS Cluster A preliminary SSERCA WOS cluster is set up among FSU, UF and USF. Management WOS core node resides in UF for now. Each university contributes a WOS core node to the cluster. DDN provides two test access nodes (gateways) for each university. Cross-site tests have been performed.

DDN Software Update ownCloud (6.0.5) went to production at UF on Sept 22, under the brand name “GatorBox”. DDN updated all sites’ SSERCA test WOS Access software to v1.4Beta. Major new feature introduced in v1.4Beta: user and group quota for NFS – tested, mostly works as expected. Bugs were reported to DDN. Official production release v1.4GA will be installed at the three sites in the week of 11/10. WOS Access v1.5 with full required features is under development, expected to be released in January, 2015.

Cross-site Tests Cross-site tests were performed between UF and USF on the preliminary SSERCA cluster with NFS gateways and clients. iperf bandwidth tests. Sub-admin feature tests. Cross-site data share tests. Cross-site replication tests. Cross-site quota tests. Tests worked mostly as expected.

Pending and Fixed Bugs Many found bugs are fixed. There are still some outstanding bugs to be fixed: rsync problem (USF) NSF file size limit (UF) wosnas notification: backup fail message (FSU) RFE for GUI to show backup status on passive node (FSU) Wrong quota grace period displayed on NFS client (UF) NFSv4 support (FSU) Detailed log information (UF) Some bugs with ownCloud (FSU and UF)

SC14 DDN-SSERCA Demo A DDN-SSERCA demo will be performed onsite during SC14. The show will be hosted at DDN booth. The demo will be focused on WOS storage system’s ID-mapping (pre- beta software) and data share across institutions. NFS gateways at DDN booth will access the SSERCA WOS cluster during the demo. Technical details are being worked on.
