Analyzing information Involves looking at something closely, breaking it into essential parts, and critically examining each part
For example… Suppose you read an informational article that also included maps of Panama, and a timeline of historical events. To analyze this article, you would need to examine each paragraph of the text, the map, and the timeline to see the important information each part contains.

When asked these types of questions… Ask yourself: Where can I find the information I need to answer the questions? What is important about each part of the selection, and how are the parts related? How does the information apply to the task or situation at hand?
Example questions According to the information in the article, which would be the best ____? Use both, the article and the map to answer this question. What should you do if ___? Which information form the article should be used to ___? Using information from the article, how would you ___?
