2 Walmart And Womens Entrepreneurship Women are our core customer and they control more than $20 trillion dollars in spending globally Walmart is uniquely position to empower women through the scale of our supply chain Opportunity to leverage NGOs, international institutions, and other businesses engaged in womens empowerment

3 Example: Brazil Income Generation – Women Support groups and potential suppliers through: –Market access –Innovative technologies –Credit (microcredit) Grow and Replicate the initiative with WMT Intl Embrace and support fair trade initiatives aligned with WMT business Target social inclusion through the business IFC Women's Entrepreneurship

4 Example: CARE – Walmart Partnership for Women Farmers - Peru Enhancing the lives of 2,300 small scale farmers in Peru, creating 300 new jobs. Particular emphasis on the role of women in farming, helping them to take a leadership role in commercial activities. Trading and entrepreneurial support for women to strengthen business and negotiating skills. Focus on strong agricultural, environmental, and water resource management practices, access to credit, and relationships with local buyers and exporting companies
