April 2008 Installation Types  Local installation Single-seat installation  Central installation WINLine folder must be shared A folder is created for each “user“ in the WINLine app folder Processes run on the “server“  Network installation (client/server) WINLine folder must be shared on the server as well as the clients Files are automatically copied to the clients Processes run on each client workstation

April 2008 Installation Types  Terminal server and server farm Terminal server and SQL server should not be on same server PC for performance reasons A separate folder is on terminal server for each user Short cut to cwlstart.exe on the desktop of each TS user Server farm means that more than one terminal server can be used - > “load balancing“

April 2008 Update - Patch  Patch Files are downloaded from the Internet and automatically installed -> solely for *.exe updates Clients are updated as well  Update New build number -> CD or install setup version The new version can be installed from the server or client The new files are copied to the clients or server during update Database must be upsized Please note the following before an update: Start the cwlstart.exe on the server at least once -> so that any changes (forms, user-specific settings) can be updated Forms, CTK modifications need to checked in – otherwise they are deleted Back up the WINLine folder on the server Back up databases (System database + Company database(s))

Audit protocol can be opened in CWLSTART Protocol can be deleted in WL ADMIN

System database can be backed up from WL ADMIN Selection of system tables that will be backed up Companies can be backed up from WL ADMIN Selection of fiscal year from which company will be backed up System files (e.g., *.meso) Selection of components that will be backed up  Automated backup procedures with the Action Server

April 2008 Database Upsize  Databases from older program versions can be upsized to the new version  Table structure/definitions can be reconstructed with an upsize  Companies can be transferred to another or new database with an upsize  Companies can be formatted to another database type with an upsize  Companies can be copied incl. transaction data (new company number) Example.: generation of a test company from live company data

April 2008 Properties  Unlimited number of properties can be set up Properties are used for storing structured data, i.e., Yes/No, combo box selection, etc.  Properties can be assigned to different objects (product, AR/AP accounts, CRM, relationships, etc.)  Properties are non-specific to company  Properties can be printed in reports  Properties are available as filter selection criteria  Different types of properties can be set up Integer, double, headers, checkbox, variable (combo box), fix -> values can only be selected from combo box
