Goal Improvement of student achievement by: Providing students meaningful learning experiences. Affording district students in pre-kindergarten through grade twelve (P-12) the opportunity to catch up, retain, acquire additional and new knowledge and develop skills to promote a seamless transition to the next level of instructional experiences. Objective To provide quality learning activities for all K-12 students enrolled in the 2009 Summer School Program as measured by student achievement data. To determine the effectiveness of the 2009 All Star Summer Academy by administering students the following assessments: Diagnostic Reading Assessment (DRA) in grades K-2 Acuity in grades 3-7 Scholarship Reading Inventory (SRI) for Senate Bill 319 students (3rd and 4th graders) reading below the third grade level (at-risk level) End of Course (EOC) exams in Algebra I; Biology and English II for high school students St. Louis Public Schools 3/28/2017

Attendance Focus An approved summer school program provides at least one hundred twenty (120) clock hours of instruction regardless of the number of days it is in operation (DESE Guidelines). Students in SLPS schools attended summer school for 145 hours. St. Louis Public Schools 3/28/2017

Food Service and Transportation All students enrolled in the 2009 Summer School Program received daily breakfast and lunch. Transportation was provided for all Summer School students who were eligible for transportation services. St. Louis Public Schools 3/28/2017

Advanced Planning for Summer School 2010 2009 Summer School staff were requested to submit suggestions for improving Summer School for 2010 relative to: Enrollment Attendance Selection of summer school sites Curriculum and content Suggestions for improving the 2010 Summer School Program are retained for use in planning Summer School 2010.
