3 April SAB approved the HVAC Mechanical Modernization Project s Contractors. Wiegmann Associates was awarded Roosevelt, Soldan and Sumner High Schools. C. E. Jarrell Company was awarded Beaumont High, Carr Lane VPA and McKinley CJA Middle School. Icon Mechanical was awarded Nottingham CAJT School. Hazardous material demolition began on Monday, April 21, Timeline

4 May The Districts Construction Team met with the Construction Management Consultants and the contractors to finalize the Design Build Projects. Preliminary reviews with the City of St. Louis Department of Public Safety – Division of Building and Inspections. The Construction Team met with each principal individually to discuss installation and packing of the school for the HVAC Project. Boxes and tape delivered to schools during the week of May 5th. Demolition of the boiler rooms, fan rooms and tank rooms are in progress. Timeline

5 June June 5 th - Last day of school. Staff moved to summer locations. On June 9, 2008 Contractors took possession of their buildings to begin work. Contractor video taped their schools property. Hazardous material demolition is 95% complete. Mechanical Contractors Work Began * Complete Working Drawings * Preliminary Code Reviews July Dewey I. S. School - estimated date of completion is July 28, Washington Montessori School - estimated date of completion is July 28, Timeline

7 Challenges Dewey Hazardous material discovered in the duct work – could delay turning on air conditioning system AmerenUE Upgrade power lines to the buildings New power for air conditioning Installation of Transformers (Adjusts power to building needs)- Long lead time - up to 16 weeks October 15 th Deadline New heating systems needs to be operational Temporary Heat - Have a back-up plan that will provide heat to the entire building.
