Improvement Goals Public Image The City of St. Louis and its Stakeholders Internal Image Parents/Guardians, Families, and Students Self-Image Administration, Teachers, and Staff of the District

Improving Public Image How the Community perceives the district has a direct impact on the level of support provided. Superintendent Communications Community Support & Engagement Board Outreach Focus Groups & Communication Accountability Communications Policies

Improving Internal Image How families perceive their interactions with SLPS staff and schools will have a direct bearing on their involvement and enrollment. Superintendent Communications Parent/Family Support & Engagement Parent-Teacher Collaboration Customer Service Focus

Improving Self-Image How members of the staff perceive their jobs and environment will have a direct impact on the quality of work provided. Superintendent Communications Staff Support & Engagement Board Outreach Policy & Training Staff Recognition

Parent Ambassadors Concept: Recruit and train 3-5 parents at each school to improve individual school communications and promote activities at the district level Work non-competitively with School Administration and recognized district/parent groups Function: Serve as school liaisons to SLPS stakeholders Act as representatives to new families and promote a welcoming environment at the school

Parent Ambassadors Responsibilities: Identify, articulate, and convey problems through the appropriate channels Empower stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met Provide community outreach Serve as interview panelist for school administrative hires Establish communication and accountability suitable to each school Meet periodically with Parent Advisory Board
