PART III DIFFERENT TYPES OF PRAYERS  PRAYER OF PRAISE  THE WORD PRAISE IS MENTIONED IN THE BIBLE 351 TIMES   TO PRAISE is to use words that express approval or admiration, e.g. for somebody's achievements or for something's good qualities

WHEN WE PRAISE GOD WE ACKNOWLEDGE HIM FOR WHO HE IS:  HE IS ABOVE ALL: SUPREME  KING OF KINGS & LORD OF LORDS  ELOHIM: GOD THE CREATOR MIGHTY & STRONG  EL SHADDAI: GOD ALMIGHTY ULTIMATE POWER OVER ALL.

OUR BASIS REASONS FOR PRAISING GOD  GOD LOVES US  Romans 8:35-40 (New International Version)  35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." [a] 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, [b] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.ab

IT IS BECAUSE OF THE DEPTH OF HIS LOVE FOR US THAT HE ANSWERS OUR PRAYERS  If you want to see the glory of the Lord, Praise Him; Lift up your hands and praise him   When our praises go up, His blessings come down

HOW POWERFUL IS OUR PRAYERS III  Lamentations 3: 22 – 23 : - Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.  23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

WE PRAISE HIM BECAUSE HE PROTECTS US FROM OUR ENEMIES  AFTER ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL MIRACLES OF ALL TIMES RECORDED IN THE BIBLE  THE PARTING OF THRE RED SEA MOSES AND HIS SISTER, MIRIAM, WROTE A SONG OF PRAISE WHICH THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL SANG TO THE LORD:  EXODUS 15

EXODUS 15  The Song of Moses and Miriam  1 Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the LORD : "I will sing to the LORD, for he is highly exalted. The horse and its rider he has hurled into the sea. 2 The LORD is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him.  3 The LORD is a warrior; the LORD is his name.  4 Pharaoh's chariots and his army he has hurled into the sea. The best of Pharaoh's officers are drowned in the Red Sea. [a]a  5 The deep waters have covered them; they sank to the depths like a stone.  6 "Your right hand, O LORD, was majestic in power. Your right hand, O LORD, shattered the enemy.  7 In the greatness of your majesty you threw down those who opposed you. You unleashed your burning anger; it consumed them like stubble.

THE BOOK OF PSALMS INSPIRES US TO HAVE A HEART OF PRAISE  In The Book of Psalms we learn how David ‘s heart was set on acknowledging God who He is. This made him the most successful king of Israel for all times.  A psalm is a sacred song or poem used in the praise and worship of God.  POPULAR PSALMS OF PRAISE: 23, 44, 81, 147,150

We praise Him because He heals our diseases  Matthew 9: 20 : _ the woman who had been ill with an issue of blood for 12 years.  John 5 : the Miracle at the Pool of Bethesda, the man had been ill for 38 years

The Walls of Jericho  The power of a Shout of Praise

The power of a shout of Praise: Joshua 6:  12 Joshua got up early the next morning and the priests took up the ark of the LORD. 13 The seven priests carrying the seven trumpets went forward, marching before the ark of the LORD and blowing the trumpets. The armed men went ahead of them and the rear guard followed the ark of the LORD, while the trumpets kept sounding. 14 So on the second day they marched around the city once and returned to the camp. They did this for six days.  15 On the seventh day, they got up at daybreak and marched around the city seven times in the same manner, except that on that day they circled the city seven times. 16 The seventh time around, when the priests sounded the trumpet blast, Joshua commanded the people, "Shout! For the LORD has given you the city! 17 The city and all that is in it are to be devoted [a] to the LORD. Only Rahab the prostitute [b] and all who are with her in her house shall be spared, because she hid the spies we sent. 18 But keep away from the devoted things, so that you will not bring about your own destruction by taking any of them. Otherwise you will make the camp of Israel liable to destruction and bring trouble on it. 19 All the silver and gold and the articles of bronze and iron are sacred to the LORD and must go into his treasury."ab

HOW POWERFUL ARE OUR PRAYERS III  Joshua 6:  In the story of the fall of Jericho it was because the Israelite acknowledged god for who He is that they got victory. It was a shout of praise that caused the walls to collapse  God would tear down any wall that prevents us form achieving victories He has set for us in life

LET’S PRAISE HIM FOR WHO HE IS  Jehovah -JIREH: "The Lord will Provide“ YAH“  Jehovah -RAPHA: "The Lord Who Heals“  Jehovah -NISSI: "The Lord Our Banner" through Him we get victory  Jehovah -M'KADDESH: "The Lord Who Sanctifies, Makes Holy  Jehovah -SHALOM: "The Lord Our Peace“  Jehovah -TSIDKENU: "The Lord Our Righteousness”
