Project to see Quantities.

Problem Forest School is a very important feature within my workplace, and as part of my work, I was asked by my class teacher to transfer all water proof clothing to a newly built Forest School room. Within this room, we will be storing all waterproof clothing, wellington boots the children have provided and exploring resources. As well as transferring the clothing down, I did a stock check to be sure how many children can wear the resources on a wet day. Ensure there are enough waterproof clothing for children to use in Forest School activities, both for coats and trousers.

How to accomplish this. All data will be handwritten whilst checking stock. From this initial data, I will create a table showing the stock available and number present. Click below to see the initial handwritten data:

Stock Check Below is a table, created on Microsoft Excel for clarity and formatting, to show what stock is available: ProductSizeNumberManufacturerTotalFull Total Dungarees 419 Ocean Trousers 5 & 629 Dickies63 7 & 834 Coats (Non reflective) 3 & 45 Result Junior & &85 Coats (Reflective) 5 & 628 Dickies58 7 & 830

Stock Check continued

Percentages of Dungarees and Trousers. By looking at the Original stock information, i found out the percentages by dividing the number of items by the total. This gave me: Product% Dungarees44% Trousers56%

Pie Chart of %

Percentage of Reflective and Non Reflective The same thing was done for the reflective and non reflective coats. Product% Non- Reflective26% Reflective74%

Pie Chart of %

Looking over data It is clear from these diagrams that we have higher levels of trousers and reflective coats. If we refer back to the Fig 1,, we can see that the two higher products are the same brand, meaning they came as packs. Therefore, we needed to see how many full suits we had, by size, and what was left over. On average, the highest number of children per class is around 30. Therefore, we need 30 of everything to have full suits. Stock Check

How much more needed. Taking into account we need 30 of everything, and looking back at the initial table, we need: ProductSizeNumberManufacturerMore needed. Full Suits 5 & 628 Dickies 2 7 & Dungarees 419 Ocean Coats (Non reflective) 3 & 45 Result Junior 25 5 & &85 25

Research of Prices Looking at multiple sources, I will now price how much it will cost to create full suits. I will be using the following: YPO Primary 2013 (Catalogue photocopied from office) (Website found via Google) (Website found via Google) (Website found via Google) YPO Primary 2013.

YPO Primary Jackets at size 3 & 4. Pack of 5 costs £60.00 therefore, we need 5 packs, which will cost 5 x £60.00 = £ Jackets at size 5 & 6. Pack of 5 costs £60.00 therefore, we need 4 packs, which will cost 4 x £60.00 = £ That is a total cost of £ for only a small section of the list, and these were the only items found.

2 Full Suits at size 5 & 6. Each suit costs £12.00 therefore, we need 2 packs, which will cost 2 x £12.00 = £24.00 (plus £4.95 Delivery and £0.99 VAT) = £29.94

11 Dungarees at size 4. Each pair costs £18.50 therefore, we need 11 pairs, which will cost 11 x £18.50 = £ (Plus delivery cost of £3.00) = £206.50

25 Jackets at size 3-4. Each pair costs £11.50 therefore, we need 20 pairs, which will cost 25 x £11.50 = £ Jackets at size 5-6. Each pair costs £11.50 therefore, we need 25 pairs, which will cost 20 x £11.50 = £ Jackets at size 7-8. Each pair costs £11.50 therefore, we need 25 pairs, which will cost 25 x £11.50 = £ Total value = £ (Plus delivery cost of £4.75) = £809.75

Conclusion After searching through all of this, I have found that the non-reflective coats from Result Junior can be considered as obsolete within the Forest School supplies. They are the smallest number of products we have, and therefore would cost a great deal to bring to the number we need. Therefore, it is better if we only focus on the full suits and dungarees, and is better to look back at the websites of the initial manufacturers. This will give us a final cost of £ £29.94 = £
