Higher Achievement Program

WHAT WE SAY TO PARENTS: HAP is a summer academic enrichment experience that focuses on basic learning skills through individual and group activities in a format similar to a day camp. Rather than having your son sit out for the entire summer, forgetting some of the things he has learned this year, HAP will provide him with an affordable, safe and fun opportunity to exercise his mind for 4 weeks in a program designed to stimulate his academic abilities. HAP is not summer school. There are no grades, tests or homework. The HAP program achieves its goals by utilizing non-traditional teaching techniques, outdoor activities and hands-on experiential learning. The overall goal is to strengthen your son’s academic abilities while having fun. Our Jesuit faculty encourages his emotional, physical, and spiritual development.

The HAP curriculum Consists of seven activity-based courses: Math English I (grammar & vocab) English II (reading) Science (Biology, Chem, Physics-all labs) Physical education Fine arts Computer programming (grades 7&8 only) Full-time Jesuit teachers and counselors lead and instruct all HAP activities. They are assisted by current Jesuit students trained in specific course areas.
