Eligibility For support from Film Hub Central East we ask you to: have a commitment to the objectives of Film Hub Central East nominate a representative of your organisation agree to share data and results from Hub Activity

Core Objectives The Film Hub and supported activity will function within the core strategic objectives outlined within the BFI’s Film Forever plan. These core objectives are: Reach - To increase and broaden audiences for specialised and British independent film Breadth - To considerably extend film choice for audiences across the UK Depth - To enhance opportunities for audiences to engage with and learn about film

How much money is available? £151,800 has been allocated to support Film Hub Central East Activity in 2014/2015. £100,000 of this sum is assigned to support selected Expressions of Interest Activity. Funding is used to support a range of audience development activities at a local, regional, and cross-regional level.

The Process Our aim is to provide a welcoming, transparent, and engaging Hub We emphasise that the expressions of interest cycles are not applications, but a conversation of how we can collaborate to grow audiences in the region. There will be feedback and an open dialogue of how we can work together to revise unsuccessful proposals for future EOI cycles.

Expressions of interest are allocated into two strands: Proposals of delivering Activity to be supported by the Hub Proposing receiving access to Activity supported by the Hub

What we ask you to provide an explanation of the Activity a breakdown of costing and VAT details specifics on your venue (or where the activity is taking place) and audience details on any other parties involved in the activity, particularly those contributing additional income

Depending on the Expressions of Interest we receive, we may look to support you in developing partnerships across the Hub to create larger co-ordinated activity

How many EOIs can be submitted? You are welcome to propose multiple EOI’s for different Activity, or if you wish to both deliver and receive Activity.

What are we looking for? Activity is tailored to local audiences and geography, including support for: touring and archive programmes pop-ups and live events projects aimed at engaging the next generation of film fans sector-led training in areas such as programming, marketing, fundraising, and technical delivery

Activity that shows a sound vision in building a legacy of audience engagement, ultimately with the purpose of becoming self- sustainable. match funding from your organisation to support the Activity.

We encourage proposals that engage the following areas: Screen heritage and archive material Reaching diverse audiences Reaching hard to reach audiences (Rural and Urban) Reaching young audiences A focus on expanding programming

What are we unable to support? Core Posts Formal Education for ages 5-19 Production/Distribution of films Film Festival Programmes Activity which is already fully funded Retrospective funding
