O VERVIEW OF NASPAA A CCREDITATION The philosophy of NASPAA Accreditation SVT consists of 3 members; Visit last 2.5 days Do NOT make judgments regarding compliance Do NOT tell a program how they should do things or how your program does it. The role of the Interim Report New Site Visit Manual Online Offerings and Distance Campuses

L OGISTICS Who is eligible? How long it takes to get chosen Need Resume Refresh training every 5 years Submitting Expenses

N EW S YSTEM / M ATERIALS How to access the online systemonline system Importance of updating information in system (SVT should keep up to date and mailing address) When to do things, when to expect things Site Visit Report Template New NASPAA WebsiteNASPAA Website

S TANDARD 1 What COPRA wants to know about the mission process Who is involved (Faculty, Alumni, Stakeholders, etc)? How often is the mission reviewed? How are the program’s public service values reflected in the mission? How does the program’s mission guide its decision- making? How Standard 1 is different from Standard 5 with regards to goals and outcomes.

How to determine who is part of the faculty nucleus How involved in is the faculty member in teaching, programmatic decision making, advising; do they participate in faculty meetings, etc. What documentation shows this info; Minutes from Faculty Meetings, Course teaching Schedules, Documentation on who is involved in what faculty committees and responsibilities (advisement, internship placement, etc.) How to determine if faculty members are academically or professionally qualified? 50% rule Exercise 1 S TANDARD 2

S TANDARD 3 How to view info on faculty members in the Online System (faculty reports tab) how it can be exported to Excel. Diversity Plans Exercise 2

S TANDARD 4 Questions SV’s should be considering for Standard 4: Does the program’s recruitment practices match with its mission? Is the program holding students to its admission standards? Is the program only admitting students with good potential to succeed? How does the program handle exceptions to admissions requirements? Is the program providing adequate support services, advisement, and placement services? Are their students graduating in a timely manner, does the program have a problem with attrition? Are its graduates working in the public sector, are they employed in a manner that fits with the programs mission? How is the program addressing the issue of diversity in the makeup of its students and their exposure to diverse materials?

S TANDARD 6 & 7 This standard has programs make judgments regarding the adequacy of their program’s resources. Does the program’s judgment appear to be correct? Are there areas of concern that appear in the other standards that can be traced back to a resource issue? Do students have adequate access to information technology and research materials? Site Visit Teams should review the program’s website in advance of the visit to ensure that all the required materials are available to the public (show examples of what website might look like)
